Jeanne Nyquist, 88, of Duluth, our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to Heaven on Sunday morning, Oct. 2, 2016.

Beryl Jeanne Prevost was born on March 25, 1928, to Samuel and Hannah Prevost, in Cloquet.

She graduated from Cloquet High School and attended the Carey-Gaspard School of Business in Duluth, where she met her husband, Eino Nyquist. They were married on Jan. 28, 1949, in the Messiah Lutheran Church in Duluth, and lived in Duluth the rest of their lives.

Jeanne worked as a legal secretary for a few years before staying home to care for their two children. She later worked for Wildey Mitchell, attorney, for several years, and was a long-standing member of Faith Lutheran Church in Duluth.

Jeanne was a beautiful lady; she loved to ballroom dance, sing, garden, play cards, and spend time with her family. She was kind, loving, supportive, soft-spoken and easy-going; we will miss her very much.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Eino; sister, Rachel Helland; and brother, George Prevost.

Jeanne is survived by son, Alvin "Al" Nyquist of Duluth; daughter, Vivian (Jim) Gangl of Duluth; grandson, Jason (Mayu) Nyquist of St. Paul, seven year old great-grandson, Lake of St. Paul; almost five year old great-granddaughter, Rain of St. Paul; granddaughter, Leah (Tony) Mootz of Duluth; twin sister, Beulah of Hines, Minn.; sister-in-law, Josie Prevost of Cloquet; many nieces and nephews, and two furry friends, Bella and Duke.

The family would like to thank Mt. Royal Pines III Assisted Living for their kindness in caring for mom the last six years, and Lakeshore's "The Fountains" for their attentive care this last month.
