Mourning for Charleston

(Submitted photo)

The Northland Brady Campaign Protect Minnesota held a memorial bell ringing at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church in Duluth on June 22.

“The event was to remember the shooting victims of the Charleston and to call on people to do something about the continued shooting,” said Joan Peterson of Protect Minnesota.

The Charleston, S.C. victims were attending a church function at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, aka “Mother Emanuel,” which has a history of working for African-American rights and of being targeted for violence by white supremacists.
