Visit Duluth announces 2014 Volunteer Award

Jim Paquette, general manager of Canal Park Lodge, was honored with the Visit Duluth Volunteer of the Year Award.

At its annual Membership Luncheon on May 6, Visit Duluth recognized the recipient of its annual “Manley and Erwin Goldfine Volunteer of the Year” award. This year’s award was presented to Jim Paquette, general manager of Canal Park Lodge.

Jim is a current Visit Duluth board member serving on the Executive and Membership Committees.

“Jim Paquette was chosen for his many years of volunteer service on the board of directors, membership committee and executive committee,” said Anna Tanski, President and CEO of Visit Duluth. Jim is chair of the membership committee and was instrumental in establishing a fair process for the challenging issue of evaluating membership dues.

“We are very fortunate to have someone like Jim in our community,” Tanski said. “As an organization, we are very grateful for Jim’s ability to go above and beyond and for his dedication to Visit Duluth.”

He is also an active member of the Duluth Superior Hotel Association board and the Duluth Air & Aviation Expo board.

In 2010, Visit Duluth renamed its volunteer award in honor of Manley and Erwin Goldfine.
