UMD hosts astronomy day Saturday
Every year, the Planetarium at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) encourages people to look up at the stars and contemplate the vastness of our universe as part of International Astronomy Day. This year’s event will take place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. This is the 50th anniversary year for the Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium.
Activities will include constellation shows, universe tours, virtual reality demonstrations, full-dome planetarium movies and hands-on activities for all ages. More information is available via the Planetarium website.
All of the days’ events are free and open to the public. Members of the Arrowhead Astronomical Society will be on hand to help.
