Police, Fire depts. play ball to benefit children


Police officers and firefighters will battle it out on the baseball field at the ninth annual Guns ‘n’ Hoses Softball Challenge on Thursday, Aug. 25 at Wade Stadium.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with the game at 6:15 p.m. There is a freewill offering at the gate. Net proceeds of food and beverage sales will be donated to the Northern Lights Foundation.

Emergency vehicles will be on display including fire trucks, squad cars and the mounted police patrol. Pre-game festivities will include a K-9 demonstration, bouncy houses for the kids and the chance to dunk Chief of Police Mike Tusken, Fire Chief Dennis Edwards and FOX 21 TV Anchor Dan Hanger.
