UMD hosts veterans forum
An interactive forum, "Serving the UMD Veteran & Military Community: How Are We Doing?" will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 in the Rafters, third floor of Kirby Student Center, University of Minnesota Duluth. The event is free and open to veterans, active duty personnel, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public.
The event will open with remarks by UMD Chancellor Lendley C. Black. Fletcher Hinds, a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the UMD Veteran's Task Force, will give the keynote address. Lunch will be provided at no cost.
Student veterans will share their experiences at UMD during a panel discussion and a summary of the results from a survey of UMD student veterans will be presented. Chancellor Black will close the event with remarks on future goals for the UMD Veteran's Task Force.
Community groups and UMD resources will be on hand to provide information and guidance.
