Cancer and holistic care
A free educational event, “The Importance of Physical and Holistic Care: Tools for Cancer Survivors and Caregivers,” will be Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Marshall School Auditorium, 1215 Rice Lake Rd. A resource fair and light dinner begins at 4:30 p.m. The presentation runs 5:30-7 p.m. with Dr. Homam Alkaied, St. Luke’s oncologist; Deb Viner, PsyD, St. Luke’s licensed psychologist; Ann Forrest Clark, OTR/L, CDRS, LDI, St. Luke’s occupational therapist; and Glenn Tobey, psychotherapist and qigong master.
This event is the fifth quarterly lecture in St. Luke’s Regional Cancer Center’s “Understanding Cancer” survivorship lecture series. Speakers will discuss the importance of self-care and share coping skills and techniques to help ease the stress of cancer for patients and caregivers. There will be a time for questions following the lecture.
