Hinduism is topic at Baha'i Center Monday

"An Introduction to Hinduism" will be presented by Koresh Lakhan at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, at the Twin Ports Baha'i Center, 1323 Broadway, in Superior. Lakhan, co-owner of the India Palace Restaurant, is a member of the First Unitarian Universalist congregation in Duluth. This is the first of seven programs on the world's major religions. Korean Bible study at Our Redeemer's Free Lutheran

Two missionaries to speak at Lester Park Methodist

Two guests representing the general board of Global Ministries will be visiting Lester Park United Methodist Church during its Sunday services at 10:30 a.m. and again at 6:30 p.m. Gayla Jean Horn will speak during the 10:30 a.m. service as the mission chair to Wesley United Methodist Church. Missionary to speak at Hillside

Special guest speaker Johnny Mireb will be at Hillside United Methodist Church, 1801 Piedmont Ave., on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. Mireb, an Israeli Palestinian Christian, will give a powerful message at worship and then lead an informative discussion after worship. Guest speaker at Church of Christ this week

The Church of Christ, 318 N. 18th Ave. E., will have Gospel meetings on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., and Monday through Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The meetings feature guest speaker Harry Osborne from Tampa, Fla.

St. Ed's Alpha supper Tuesday

Holy Eucharist services will be conducted by the Rev. Margaret Warren Thomas at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at St. Edward's Episcopal Church, 4401 Glenwood St. Healing prayers will be at noon on Tuesday. The first in a series of 12 Alpha suppers to bring about deeper understanding of Christian Faith will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

First Covenant to install Mark Kelly as lead pastor Sunday

The Rev. Mark Kelly will be installed as lead pastor of First Covenant Church, 2101 W. Second St., on Sunday, Sept. 29, during the 9:30 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Hope hosts 90th anniversary

Hope Lutheran Church, 4093 Munger Shaw Road, will have its 90th anniversary celebration Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6. Saturday's events include a celebration concert featuring Roy Carlson at 6:30 p.m.; a hayride or game jamboree at the church at 7 p.m.; a bonfire at 8 p.m.; and closing devotions at 9 p.m. Sunday's events include Sunday School and Bible study at 9:30 a.m.; a celebration worship service with guest preacher the Rev. David Bode at 10:30 a.m.; and a celebration banquet and program at noon. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for age 5 to 12, and free for age 5 and under.

Women to meet at Our Savior's Lutheran Wednesday

The women of the ELCA Lake Superior Conference will be hosted by Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Reservations for the conference will be taken until Monday. Call the church at 624-3648.

Ministry Fair at St. Paul's

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1710 E. Superior St., will host a Ministry Fair following the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Sept. 29. The fair will include booths sponsored by various committees and outreach projects of the church. Parishioners and neighbors are invited to attend to explore opportunities for ministry both within the church and in the neighborhood. Also, for eight Mondays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 30, the church will hold a class on "Dance and Spiritual Journey" in the Parish Hall. No previous dance instruction is necessary.
