Candidate forum addresses poverty
The second annual "Local Solutions to Poverty" candidate forum is 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6 in Trepanier Hall, 202 W. Second St.
Speakers who have experienced poverty and homelessness will tell their stories and directly question the candidates in order to inform them and create accountability.
Candidates present will be those running for county commissioner District 1 (Frank Jewell and Jim Booth) and Minnesota House Districts 7A (Jen Schultz, Becky Hall and Kriss Osbakken) and 7B (Erik Simonson).
Candidates' discussion will run 6-7:30 with open discussion 7:30-8 p.m. The event is hosted by CHUM, Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless, AICHO, Community Action Duluth, The Employment Table, Loaves & Fishes and Citizens Federation.
