Artists wanted for biennial exhibit
The Duluth Art Institute is now accepting submissions for the 60th Arrowhead Biennial. Artists from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Michigan and Ontario are eligible to enter work.
Submissions will be accepted until July 15, 2014. Awards are $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third. The exhibit runs Nov. 13, 2014 through Feb. 15, 2015 in the Steffl Gallery of the Depot, 506 W. Michigan St.
The exhibit began in 1919 to highlight artists from the Upper Midwest. This year’s juror will be Diane Mullin, senior curator at the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She will present the awards at the opening reception Nov. 13, 4-7 p.m.
A full-color catalog with all admitted works will be available at the reception. It will include a statement from Mullin as well as announcements of the 2014 Arrowhead Biennial winners and honorable mentions.
