For Valentine’s Day, East Fourth Street residents posted hearts on the trees in their neighborhood to show  their continued devotion to preserving the trees, despite a joint city-county plan to tear down around 200 of them along a two-mile stretch for road and utility reconstruction. St. Louis County resident engineer Steve Krasaway said the plans to remove the trees is still moving forward and expects a community meeting to be held in April. (Photo by Naomi Yaeger)
